New Product Development
The new product development scholars have always been closely connected with business. Firms, both national and international, have relied upon our scholars for cutting edge research projects (e.g., with ASML, Océ-Technologies, Damen Shipyards and Sabic Innovative Plastics), for recruiting high quality students from the MSc Innovation Master's program and for executive and organizational development programs (i.e., lecture series on innovation management). Via both bachelor and master-level thesis projects we help both established firms and start-ups improve their new product development efforts. Exemplar projects include portfolio management software improvement at Bicore, metrics use in the fuzzy front-end of the design-driven product development at Philips Design, configuration management at ASML, and designing an aggregate NPD process solution for Liandon. Apart from firm-specific projects, our product development scholars are committed to sharing their intellectual capital and research findings with institutions and businesses in the Brainport Region through our networking initiatives (e.g., Round Table on Portfolio Management) and participation in professional organizations like the Product Development & Management Organization (PDMA).
